Every count on this page was measured by script on 5 October 2026 against the exact text you copy. We have not tested these names inside Instagram, Free Fire or any other app ourselves, so we do not claim which symbols turn into empty boxes there; if one shows as a square on your phone, switch to a plainer frame. Questions people ask
Can I use a stylish name as my Instagram username?
No. Usernames only allow letters, numbers, periods and underscores. Put the styled version in the display name field instead.
Why does my styled name look different on another phone?
Styled letters rely on the font installed on the device. Most modern phones draw them, but older phones can show empty squares.
Will a styled display name hurt search on Instagram?
We have not measured that, so we cannot say. Keep your plain username searchable and use the styled name for the display name only.
Do styles cost more characters?
Combining effects such as strikethrough do, because each letter plus its mark counts as two characters. Plain styles such as bold stay one character per letter.
